ABOUT US

The Housing Authority of Jefferson Parish (HAJP) is as a political subdivision of the State of Louisiana and was established pursuant to the provisions of the Louisiana Housing Authorities Law, LA. R.S. 40:381. The HAJP was established to promote decent, safe, and sanitary housing for lower-income families who cannot afford standard private housing. Our mission is to promote adequate and affordable housing, economic opportunity, and a suitable living environment free from discrimination.

The HAJP administers more than 4,700 Housing Choice Vouchers and owns and manages approximately 200 Conventional Public Housing units at its Acre Road Housing Development.
